Be the Church of Refuge | Levites, Justice, and Grace in Numbers 35

Starting with the backstory of Dinah's violation (Genesis 34), we see how Levi and Simeon’s brutal revenge brought lasting consequences. But through grace, God redeemed Levi’s line, making the Levites leaders, priests, and guardians of sacred space and justice.

• God gave the Levites 48 towns, including six cities of refuge—safe havens for those who killed unintentionally.
• These cities were revolutionary in their time, setting a precedent for civil justice over tribal retaliation.
• The idea of the Go’el (kinsman redeemer) reflects God's heart for redemption—someone who rescues, restores, and preserves family and tribal integrity.
